The MV Kaitaki is a ropax ferry owned by Irish Continential Group but operated by Interislander Ferries, situated in New Zealand. The MV Kaitaki was built in 1995 as the Isle of Innisfree for Irish Ferries, and at the time was the first superferry on the Irish Sea. In 2002, she

was chartered to P&O Portsmouth Ferries and then P&O Ferries in 2005. She was in service with Stena Line briefly as the Stena Challenger to act as a replacement for a different ferry whilst it was out of service. After that, she was transferred to Interislander Ferries where she was renamed as the Kaitaki. It has been announced that her initial five year lease will be extended, and she will remain with Interislander Ferries until 2013. However, in 2012 the future of the Kaitaki will be determined, whether she will be returned to Stena Line or be returned to her original owners, Irish Ferries.
