The Tachek is the second of the two T Class ferries that currently operate for the Canadian ferry company, BC Ferries. She was built in 1969 by Allied Shipbuilders, which differs from where her sister ship, the Tenaka was built in 1964. She was named as the Texada Queen for the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Highways. In 1977, her named was changed to the Tachek. She regularly runs on the route linking Denman Island with Hornby Island. She was transferred to BC Ferries in 1985. Her name derives from an obscure mountain found in British Columbia.
